New class, new patterns, new loom-a-long!

March will be a busy month, and I hope you can join me for the third of the CinDwood Zoomin' and Loomin' master classes. The subject this time is Swatching and Blocking. The $10 registration includes the live zoom class on March 13, 2021, a recording of the class, class written materials (a little how-to book for you to have on hand) and my Simple Lace Wrap pattern. If you already have this pattern, I will substitute a different pattern for you. Register in my etsy shop. Hope to see you there! If you cannot attend the live class, you can still receive the recording and other materials, and send me your questions ahead of time.

I am delighted to announce my newest pattern collection is available. "More Kitty Mitts" is a three pattern collection based on the original "Kitten's Lost Mittens" collection, my most popular patterns. The mitts have three different designs, a smocked mitt, lace mitt, and striped mosaic. You may choose your thumb, the shorter and longer magical kitty thumbs, as well as customize your finger and wrist cuffs.

Tigger Mitts

Buddy Bear Mitts

Mr. Milo Mitts

The More Kitty Mitts e-book collection is available in my etsy shop, my payhip shop and on ravelry for $9.00.

Remember to use caution linking to ravelry due to recent changes that can cause dizziness, seizures, headaches and visual discomfort.

Last, but certainly not least, the March and April loom-a-long project in the Ravelry Loom-a-long group is my Winter Sky Love pattern from the Little Scarves, Too collection. This sweet scarf features a simple 4 row textured lace repeat (with the lace worked in only one of the four rows) and an optional beaded edge. Everyone is having a great time choosing beads and yarn for this one! I hope you are able to join us

And speaking of beading, the February class I taught on Beading for Loom Knitters is now available for purchase. You will get the class recording, class materials, and my Moondance pattern. A little extra bonus pattern is included, too. The class is available for purchase in my etsy shop for $10.00

Fasten Off Yarn-a-long 2020

The Fasten Off Yarn-a-long 2020 begins today, and I am delighted to be a participating designer. This is a new event, and I hope you will join in.

What is FO2020? It is a designer and crafter event. The designers will all be offering patterns at a 25% discount starting today, November 25, 2020 through December 5, 2020. Use the code FO2020 to get the discount. Over 90 designers and 2000 patterns are part of the event. This is an accessible event, which means all of the patterns are available off of ravelry. All the patterns and e-books in my etsy shop are part of the event.

Once you have a pattern and project, join in the fun! You can play games, yarn-a-long, and interact with the FO community all through December, 2020. Not able to buy a pattern right now? No problem. You can work from a pattern you already own from a participating designer.

I'm also running my annual Turkey Time 20 % off sale on ravelry, but the FO2020 is a better discount.

Did I mention games and prizes? Have fun!

Dragon Oolong Loom-a-long

"Dragon Oolong" is the September - October Loom-a-long project for the Ravelry Loom-a-long group.  This is one of the patterns from my Small Shawls & Tea Parties e-book.

Scarf or wrap, you will enjoy
the free form nature of Dragon
Oolong. You may choose a solid
color yarn or a patterned yarn,
and knit until your yarn, or pegs,
run out. This is a great “one skein”
project to use up that very colorful
skein of yarn that never seems to
be right for anything else - the
Dragon will tame those colors.
There are a few guidelines for
making the Dragon, but it really
is a simple and fun knit that
uses e-wrap knit and purl stitches.
Loom Options
3/4 inch - about 42 pegs
5/8 inch - about 64 pegs
1/2 inch - about 72 pegs
3/8 inch small - about 90 pegs
3/8 inch fine - about 100 pegs
Dragon Oolong is from
the e-book “Small Shawls
 and Tea Parties: Seven
shawls to make small, or
large, and the recipes they inspired”.  $14.00 US
The e-book comes with two
files, a large print 24 point
font plain text version with
100 pages, and a 12 point
font paper-saver version
with 45 pages. A photo gallery,
schematics, and recipes for a
tea party are included. Files
are tablet and e-reader friendly.

October Patterns and Loom News

Introducing Triple Z - Z hat, Z cowl & Z ears. One pattern you may wear three ways. Well, actually four, because the hat may be worn as a beanie or slouchy hat. The pattern is written for four gauges: 1/2, 3/8, 3/8 fine and 1/4 fine.
Triple Z  $4.50 US

Don't miss out on the new PINK pegs from CinDwood Crafts looms. Purchases during October will benefit breast cancer research. This is a great opportunity to get a beautiful loom and support a wonderful cause. Plus, CinDwood is introducing two new gauges. One is a 1/4 inch fine gauge round sock loom with 56 pegs. The other is a 3/8 fine gauge sock loom with 40 pegs. This second gauge is brand new and not made by any other loom manufacturer. I've been trying it out, and I just love it. If you buy any of my patterns through CinDwood Crafts, 15 percent of the price will also be donated to breast cancer research.

New pattern, sale, and summer looming!

I'm very happy to introduce a new pattern called "Leafing". Part cowl, part shawl, and all fun. Leafing is scarf that likes to be worn in different ways. Lace it up, add beads, pin it together – there is no wrong way to wear Leafing. This pattern uses a 1/2 inch gauge loom with at least 90 pegs.
$4.50 US

The Ravelry Loom Knitter's group is hosting their bi-annual "Looms in Bloom" event (more about that below). As a tie in, the Loom-a-long group is hosting my Travel by Rail Shawl as the July loom-a-long pattern.

Through July, 2015, I'm offering the Travel by Rail pattern collection for $7.50. This includes the Travel by Rail Beret and Travel by Rail Cuffs as well as the Travel by Rail Shawl.

To get the special collection price, simply add all three patterns to your shopping cart on Ravelry, and the discount will be applied. It also includes prior pattern purchases, so if you already some of the patterns, you can get the others at the discount price.

Looms in Bloom will be starting in just a few days. We've already begun the previews, and it looks to be a wonderful trip. We are traveling by "virtual" rail all over the globe with our looms and yarn, challenging ourselves to make projects. It is all in fun, but what fun it is! There will also be a great Traveler's Bazaar on July 3rd and 4th, as well as a daily tea to relax and visit with your friends. Please come join us on for this wonderful event

April Looming

The April & May 2015 loom-a-long will be all of the patterns from "Little Scarves". Please come and join the fun, and make a little scarf or two, or three. You'll find us all here

The Great Loom Knitting Afghan Project is starting the fourth square this month, Kathy Norris' "Three Wishes". There is still lots of time to join this year long loom-a-long, and help support our fundraiser for Doctor's Without Borders.

On and off my loom, lots of shawls. I'm working on the patterns for "Loom Knit Shawls III". It is such fun to be back to shawls after a year without them. While I've enjoyed the other projects very much, I have missed my shawls.

What's on your pegs?

So Much Looming News

I have a bunch of very exciting loom knitting news to share with you. The first is "The Great Loom Knitting Afghan Project". This is a wonderful collaboration of 8 designers for the benefit of Doctors without Borders. We are all contributing afghan square designs to an e-book. The e-book will be available for pre-orders in a few weeks, and published January, 2015. All proceeds will be donated to Doctors without Borders. Books that are pre-ordered and purchased in January will be entered in a prize drawing for a loom and loom pattern books, and some other surprises. The book will only be available during 2015. Every month of 2015, the Loom-a-long group in Ravelry will have a loom-a-long for one square. I'm the lucky editor of the book, and I must say that the patterns are AMAZING. Watch for more announcements as we get closer to publication.

The Ravelry Loom-a-long group has been working on making mitts and mittens from my Kitten's Lost Mittens e-book. The loom-a-long ends in November, but December is our "unfinished objects" loom-a-long, so please bring anything you are working on and visit with the group.

We've started a group for loom knitting pattern designers over on Ravelry.  If you are designing and entering your patterns in the Ravelry pattern database, we would love to have you join our conversations.
Starting this Friday, November 28, 2014 through Monday, December 1, 2014, I have a 20 percent off sale for all of my patterns and books. Enter the code LOOMLOVE at check out for the discount.

Marly Bird will also have a huge listing of yarny specials over the holiday week and weekend for you to check out.
This little page of gift tags might be fun for your holiday gifts. Please feel free to print it out and enjoy the tags.

Almost September Looming

September will be an exciting month for me. The Geranium Petal Shawl will be the Ravelry Loom-a-long group project. In anticipation of the loom-a-long, I've updated the pattern and added a second version of the Geranium - a full sized shawl.

I'm also nearly finished with a new e-book pattern collection. The book is called "Little Scarves: Baktus and Karius for the Loom". It will contain 8 patterns based on the triangle scarves known as Baktus and Karius.
To celebrate the loom-a-long and the new e-book, I'll be having a drawings. The prizes will include lots of yarn and a very cute knitting tote. All September purchases $8.00 and up will be entered in the drawings.
In addition, all purchasers (past and future) of the Geranium Petal Shawl pattern will receive a coupon for $2.00 off the Little Scarves collection, and all purchasers of the Little Scarves collection will receive a coupon for 20% off the Kitten's Lost Mittens pattern collection.
I hope you will join in the loom-a-long, and watch for the previews of the Little Scarves patterns next week.
